After the success of the inaugural Matihiko awards in 2023, Ngā Tohu Matihiko has returned for 2024 with a permanent spot in the wātaka.

We are both honoured and excited to provide recognition for rangatira Māori and emerging Māori leaders, whilst celebrating their contributions to te ao matihiko — digital and tech — once again.

The awards are a kaitahi affair (sharing kai together) and in person, Saturday 22nd June 2024 at the Due Drop Event Centre in Manukau, Tāmaki Makaurau (Auckland).

The awards are designed to be inter-generational, having a tuakana and a teina recipient for each of the 10 awards:

He Tōtara
An established leader

He Tipu
An emerging leader

Each Tōtara and Tipu in each category will receive $1,000 to koha to a kaupapa of their choice.
